The Florentine, the newest Seniors Residence in Merritt opened in July 2007.? A place for all, combining independence with community.? Safe, secure accommodations featuring one and two bedroom suites ranging in size from 560 to 730 sq.ft.? Each unit is complete with kitchenette, microwave, fridge, table and chair, queen size pillow top bed, dresser and nightstand, flat screen TV and walk-in showers (bedding, towel and robe included).? The complex features a theatre room, library, arts and crafts room, computer room, lounge area and storage lockers available to all residents.

Merritt Seniors Centre
The Merritt Seniors Centre offers a wide variety of programs dedicated to seniors. From crafts to crib and whist to bingo and bridge to Rummoli and pool to floor curling and shuffleboard. Enjoy potluck every Friday. There's always something going on and a chance to socialize (250) 378-3763.
Interior Health oversees the various health services in Merritt and the Nicola Valley. The Nicola Valley General Hospital is an 8 bed acute care facility. Services offered at the hospital include:
full laboratory services, medical imaging (x-ray), physiotherapy (inpatient, outpatient, and home physiotherapy), dietician services, diabetes education program, social work program, and outpatient urology. The major referral hospital is Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, 85 kilometers (50 miles) to the north.
The Interior Health oversees numerous services including:
Intermediate Care is provided through Coquihalla House (31 beds)
Extended Care is provided through the adjoining Gillis House (25 beds)
Adult Daycare and Home Support is provided by Nicola House.
There are six doctors and three dentists with practices in Merritt as well as a chiropractor and massage therapy centre.
